The Surgeon

Dr. Moustafa Mourad

MD, FACS · Dual Board-Certified Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon

Dr. Moustafa Mourad is a New York City based facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon whose practice is dedicated exclusively to cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head, and neck. He holds dual board certifications from the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS) and the American Board of Otolaryngology — Head & Neck Surgery (ABOto), and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Within the broader specialty, Dr. Mourad serves as a Fellowship Co-Director for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), training fellowship-level surgeons in rhinoplasty, facelift, oculoplastic, and reconstructive facial surgery. He is also Chief of the Division of Otolaryngology — Head & Neck Surgery at Jamaica and Flushing Hospital Medical Centers, where he oversees oncologic and reconstructive services across the greater New York area.

His clinical interests center on primary and revision rhinoplasty, deep-plane facelift, reconstructive surgery after trauma or oncologic resection, and the functional restoration of the nasal airway. He has authored more than thirty peer-reviewed publications and textbook contributions, and lectures regularly to colleagues and trainees on the technical and anatomical foundations of facial plastic surgery.

Patients describe an unhurried first visit. Each consultation is built around understanding anatomy, concerns, and goals before any plan is recommended — an approach that reflects Dr. Mourad's belief that the most enduring aesthetic results begin with patient education, not persuasion.

Surgical Philosophy

An Architect's Approach to the Face

A well-executed facial procedure should not announce itself. The aim is for the patient to look refreshed, harmonious, and authentically themselves — not operated on.

That outcome is the product of careful adherence to deep structural anatomy. Whether performing a deep-plane facelift or a revision rhinoplasty, the focus is on the foundational architecture of the face — repositioning tissue at the muscular and skeletal level so that tension is removed from the skin, and longevity comes from structure rather than surface.

"Durable surgical outcomes are born from a deep respect for anatomy and an unyielding commitment to patient education."

The same principle drives the practice's emphasis on education. Patients are given the time and language to understand their own anatomy before a treatment plan is recommended — a posture inherited from years spent teaching residents and fellows.

An authored textbook and dozens of peer-reviewed publications spanning rhinoplasty, sinus and airway surgery, head & neck oncology, and reconstructive technique.
